With a fundamental commitment to community inclusion and active living, Grotto seeks to inspire all levels of climbers and fitness enthusiasts to thrive in a modern and unique environment. Reflection
For the past four weeks i have had several projects. My first project was organizing a rock climbing competition and acquiring sponsors for the event. Through the process of emailing various companies and speaking with them on the phone i have improved my communication skills and have gotten practice writing professional emails. After lots of hard work and working overtime we made the competition come together with a great success.
Another one of my projects was constructing rock climbing volumes. Volumes are 3 dimensional plywood structures that add extra features to the climbing wall. My favorite part of climbing is crack climbing, unfortunately bouldering gyms, like Grotto do not have crack climbs. This flaw inspired me to create a volume with a handrack. By creating this volume i used lots of geometry and improved my woodworking skills. |
